Module 01

Module 1: The Physiology of Enriched Air

Understand why breathing higher fractions of oxygen (up to 40%) reduces nitrogen absorption, dramatically increasing allowable bottom times on repetitive and deep dives.

Module 02

Module 2: Gas Analysis & Cylinder Labeling Workshop

Gain hands-on experience using precision digital oxygen analyzers to test scuba cylinders, verify oxygen percentages, and complete cylinder fill log tags.

Module 03

Module 3: Dive Computer Configuration & Gas Switching

Your personal dive computer (to practice nitrox programming). No in-water gear is required if completed as a non-diving workshop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Nitrox make you dive deeper?

No! Nitrox does not increase depth limits; in fact, due to oxygen toxicity limits, each nitrox mix has a strict Maximum Operating Depth (MOD). Nitrox allows you to stay LONGER at recreational depths (e.g. 50–100 ft) with less nitrogen accumulation.

Do I have to do open water dives to get Nitrox certified?

No open water dives are strictly required by PADI standards. You complete online eLearning, followed by a hands-on gas analysis workshop with Master Instructor Kevin Alexander. Optional quarry checkout dives can be added.

Is Nitrox useful for Caribbean or liveaboard vacations?

Yes! Nitrox is virtually mandatory on liveaboards and multi-dive Caribbean charters (such as Cozumel or the Florida Keys) where you perform 3 to 5 dives per day.
