Module 01

Night Dive Planning & Entry/Exit Procedures

Learn how to scout entry points in daylight, set up surface reference strobes and shore lights, and manage equipment in total darkness.

  • Setting up shore & boat beacon lights

  • Managing disorientation upon initial subsea descent
  • Buddy check protocols in twilight
Module 02

Underwater Light Communication & Etiquette

Master hand and torch signals, emergency attention flashing, and proper light etiquette to avoid blinding dive buddies.

  • Illuminating instruments and dive computers
  • Preventing accidental blinding of buddies and wildlife
  • Backup light deployment drills
Module 03

Nocturnal Navigation & Marine Observation

Navigate with compass bearings in total darkness, recognize resting diurnal fish, and observe nocturnal hunters like moray eels, lobsters, and octopuses.

Is night diving scary for beginners?

Most divers feel a little anticipatory excitement on their first night dive, but once in the water with a good light, it feels calm, peaceful, and magical! We start in the controlled spring waters of Fantasy Lake before ocean diving.
